8. What is the difference between Tritan and regular plastic?
Tritan is a premium, BPA-free copolyester plastic developed by Eastman. Benefits include:

  • Durability: Virtually unbreakable, resists cracking and shattering

  • Clarity: Glass-like clarity that doesn't fog or haze over time

  • Chemical resistance: Resists stains and odors from beverages

  • Dishwasher safe: Maintains integrity through repeated washing

  • BPA-free: Safe for food and beverage contact

Tritan complies with FDA 21 CFR 177 requirements for food contact materials .

9. How do I clean and descale my electric kettle?

  • Daily Cleaning: Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Rinse interior with fresh water.

  • Descaling Frequency: Every 4-8 weeks depending on water hardness (more often in hard water areas).

  • Descaling Method:

    • Fill kettle with equal parts water and white vinegar (or use commercial descaling solution)

    • Bring to a boil

    • Let sit for 15-20 minutes

    • Rinse thoroughly 2-3 times with fresh water

    • Boil fresh water and discard (repeat if vinegar taste remains)

  • Exterior Care: For stainless steel, use stainless steel cleaner; for plastic, wipe with damp cloth.

10. How do I care for my glass or ceramic mugs?

  • Daily Use: Rinse after use. For coffee/tea stains, use baking soda paste.

  • Dishwasher: Most are dishwasher safe, but hand washing recommended for hand-painted or metallic-trimmed items.

  • Avoid: Sudden temperature changes (thermal shock) which can cause cracking.

  • Storage: Stack carefully to prevent chipping. Use felt pads between stacked mugs for delicate items.

11. Are your plastic pitchers and mugs microwave safe?

  • Tritan Plastic: Generally not microwave safe. Check specific product label.

  • Polypropylene: Some are microwave safe (check label).

  • Glass: Most borosilicate glass is microwave safe; soda-lime glass may be microwave safe (check label).

Always check the specific product label for microwave safety.
